I started this blog as a way to keep me accountable for what I eat. I am recovering from a binge eating disorder. Been doing pretty good since about January ’08. It’s been tough, but I’ve been working through it.
It has been hard for me to find the right amount to eat. Calculators tell me i need 3500 calories per day, but I don’t. During my sophomore year I would hover around 1400 a day- as a 6’3″ female in hardcore athletics. Pretty sure that messed up my metabolism. Two years later I’m still trying to fix it. Now I’ve been staying around 1800 with mild athletics while trying to lose weight (did I mention the 1400/day was for maintenence???)
Needless to say, my perception of food has/had gotta change. Especially since I am going to be a NCAA Div. 1 athlete, competing in rowing at KS State. My food choices will pretty much be limited to res. hall food come Aug 25th. We’ll see how that goes, but for now have fun seeing what I’m eating prior to leaving home.
